WORLD OF FAITH

What would happen in our lives today, if we understood that the entire world is subject to faith spoken in harmony with God’s Word?

earth globe facing asia with sun halo
We cannot speak God’s Word once but speaking His Word must become our lifestyle. We must be convinced that we are speaking words we believe because God said them. All around us is the creation of God is subject to faith and words spoken by His people. The World of Faith subjects the natural world to faith people. It always has. God gave man the authority over all things. How? You may ask. It is through His declaration of our creation.

Genesis 1:26-29 Then God said, “Let us make people in our image, to be like ourselves. They will be masters over all life–the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the livestock, wild animals, and small animals.” So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them. God blessed them and told them, “Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.” NLT

When we are saved, we are awakened from a spiritual blindness, we become a new creation. You have to be a new creation to understand this reality.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, NKJV

This doesn’t mean you can go around just saying anything. To reach the goals of having triumphant realities operating in our lives will take commitment, courage, and daring to believe the Word of God is true. Our entire lives must be based on what we believe and say. We must realize what we believe subjects us to elements of life whether good or bad.

Proverbs 4: 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.   Some translations tell us out of your heart flows the issues of life.

What we need to remember is God created all things by faith; things seen and not seen. (Hebrews 11:1-3). Now we know we are saved by grace though faith. We believe it in our heart and confess it with our mouth. Let me take you a step farther in the power of faith.

Mark 11:23-24 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. NKJV

Notice again, how belief and the heart are crucial to the point of even moving a mountain. Do you have a mountain whether literally, emotionally, physically, financially, etc.? Call on the power of God through faith and belief. Then say to the mountain “Be removed”.

The reason I can say these things is my wife and I have lived this life for 44 years. We have preached all over the USA, Russia, Caribbean, Central America, Africa and other places. We have had to believe God for everything you can think of from healings to miracles, supply, help, transportation, etc. All of this was by faith in our God and speaking His promises.

Let me draw your attention to Abraham’s faith.

Romans 4:19-22 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

Seven things to consider concerning Abraham’s faith:

  1. He was not weak in faith.
  2. He didn’t consider the obstacles.
  3. He resisted unbelief.
  4. He believed God’s promises.
  5. He didn’t waiver.
  6. He gave God glory.
  7. He was convinced God can and will do what He promised.

When Abraham believed God He opened a supernatural door that can still affect us today.

SHARPEN YOUR AX

Ecclesiastes 10:10 If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success.ax

We realize that the ax is a metaphor for succeeding in life.

It is important to success of any kind to keep yourself sharp. If a logger went to cut down a tree, he would automatically sharpen all his tools before he started. If they are dull when he starts, success will be more difficult. An ax must be sharpened several times during the work period.

In the same vein, a butcher sharpens his knives continually for quick cutting and slicing meat. Good skills can get dulled by use, if not used often.

A great athlete doesn’t practices his skills in the game. What is the point you might ask. We have all have tried to use skills that were once sharp. I have talked to young men who loved sports then went to college or to work and found out their skill levels in basketball, baseball and other sports dropped decidedly. What happened? They couldn’t or didn’t work on them so much because interest and time constraints changed.
A Christian is given spiritual power and tools to exercise that power.

Luke 10:19-20Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

In order to exercise what the Lord has given us, here are seven things to practice to sharpen your skills through wisdom.

1. Prov. 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of
life.

Your heart determines your attitudes; things that you cherish (love) prefer and actually pursue. Jesus said “Love the Lord your God with all your heart.” One of the most important actions of the heart is “out of it springs the issues of life.”

2. Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

It is true that you are living your life today from the power of things you said and believe from the past.

If you want to change your life and sharpen your depth of wisdom, change your words to words of faith and have a positive attitude. Don’t continue to eat the fruit of fear, worry, envy, and lack of knowing the difference.

3. Jesus said to Jairus,” Only believe.” Make sure you believe Jesus is the Son of God; that He raised from the dead; that you are a new creation; that you have a better covenant based on better promises. Use what you have been given. Too many people are always looking for something new.

4. Acts 28:27 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing.

Hard of hearing the gospel means your ax is dull and it makes everything harder to hear, understand, and believe. What are you listening to and where do you spend your time? Be honest, don’t play games with God!

5. Mark 1:15 The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.

Repent means to recognize when you do wrong and turn away from it. Not by your power but by the power of your new life in Christ. Too many Christians are dull of hearing when it comes to sin. Jesus said, we should come out from the world’s ways and be separate. It will free you from so much trouble.

6. 1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith.

Faith is believing, saying, and living as if the promises of God are true. True faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God. That is what Jesus did in His ministry. Go to church on a regular basis.

7. Phil 4:8-9 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.

Sharpen your ax! Quit going around in a dull fog. Be wise and do it!

PURSUE, OVERTAKE, AND WITHOUT FAIL RECOVER ALL

In I Samuel chapter 30 we see that after a great victory, David with his men return to their home in Ziklag. When they arrive they find the city destroyed by fire and their families taken captive. Of course they were devastated and wept until they could weep no more.

As for the leader, David, not only was his home destroyed and his family taken away but his men blamed him.

Then David turned to the Lord as we read in I Samuel 30:8 So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them? “And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

When the enemy comes into our lives to kill, steal, and destroy, we must also inquire of the Lord as to how to proceed. Then put His plan into action immediately.

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

To continue with David, immediately he and his men began to pursue their enemy. Along the way they encountered a servant of their enemy who agreed to show them the enemy’s encampment.

When we obey the Lord to pursue, overtake, and without fail recover all the enemy has stolen from us, He will give us divine connections as He did David. Dr. Billye Brim taught us that these are Divine Connections in the Glorious Church. Praise God!

David and his men attacked the enemy’s camp and recovered all that was stolen and much more.

We read in John 10:10 that Jesus has come to give us life more abundantly. So we can expect that as we pursue, overtake and without fail recover all, that we will also receive more than enough.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

In any attack from the enemy on our lives or our ministry or those we have been entrusted to lead, we must strengthen ourselves through the Word and prayer.

We must find specific scriptures for the particular attack. Speak the Word; refuse to doubt and without fail PURSUE, OVERTAKE AND RECOVER ALL.

So if the devil attacks our health, what should we do? Get a little better so we can barely function, learn to live with it? NO!!!! What should we do? PURSUE OVERTAKE AND WITHOUT FAIL RECOVER ALL

If the enemy attacks our family? Should we just worry and hope for the best? NO!!!!! What should we do? PURSUE OVERTAKE AND WITHOUT FAIL RECOVER ALL

If the enemy attacks our finances, what should we do? Learn to live on less? Tell everyone we need help? Talk about how poor we are? NO!!!! What should we do? PURSUE OVERTAKE AND WITHOUT FAIL RECOVER ALL

If the devil steals our peace and joy, what should we do? Mope around? Talk about how miserable, depressed and worried we are? No!! PURSUE OVERTAKE AND WITHOUT FAIL RECOVER ALL!

HE IS

woman with issue of bloodWhile contemplating 2016, I realize that my life centers on the fact that I believe in God. The scripture says in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. NKJV   We must believe God is. There is evidence of God everywhere I look from the heavens to the majestic mountains and the flowing plains.

I noticed one day how the day and night came every day. Time could be set by their accuracy. The moon, the stars and the sun were certain distances from the earth. Seasons were determined by the earth’s rotation in relationship to the sun. In all that, I saw a grand design.           The scripture says, without faith, you can’t please Him. Faith, simply put, is believing the Bible is true. It is a record from God about His Son, Jesus Christ. God wants mankind to believe in Him. There are promises to the person who will believe that enhances your life, your hopes and dreams. Who doesn’t want life to have purpose, who doesn’t need a miracle at times, hope with results?

The Bible tells the story of a woman with a serious blood disorder. Mark 5:25-30 25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” NKJV

Remember what happened to her? Let me show you how miracles happen to people.

1. She heard good news about Jesus healing people. The first step was she believed in Him. Scripture says if you believe in Him, believe He is, believe you can receive, you will and she did.

  1. She said to herself, “If I can touch His clothes, I’ll be healed.” What did God say? Believe in Him and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. 3. She went to where He was. She took action. You can be in the wrong place sometimes! Go after the rewarder of faith and you will find Him.
  2. Jesus always recognizes faith based in scripture. She gave testimony of her healing.

Years ago my mother, my grandmother, aunts, and others lived a life of hope and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, my life centers on my faith in God.

In 2016, you too, can center your life around faith in God because HE IS.

TIPS FOR RECEIVING THE PROMISES OF GOD

Here are some simple things to do for receiving results and answered prayers. The Lord gave Joshua instructions to receive answers to promises.

Joshua 21:45 Not one of the good promises which the LORD had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass. NASU

Joshua made a startling statement. No promise failed to come to pass.

Joshua 1:7-9 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.8 day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. NKJV

1. Strength and courage come from knowing you can receive your promise; that you have the strength of character to accomplish His reward for you.

2. Meditating on His will (Bible) keeps renewing the promises to you. The term meditating in Hebrew is repeating the scripture and saying them to yourself softly.

3. Learn to never let your confidence sway back and forth. That would mean you are caught between two opinions. God’s Word never changes.

3. It takes courage to keep the Word in your confession. Remember you don’t receive from constant confession, but the constant confession of faith. Faith is based on the Word of God or we could say the promises written down in the Bible.

4. You will be challenged; so prepare for battle. Study Ephesians 6:10-20. The results of strength and courage in doing what is pleasing to God will bring good success and prospering in life. Change your life today with God’s help.

Today, if you will start studying these four basics tips and doing them you will begin to have good success.

THE POWER WITHIN

090610-Minneapolis-Traffic-Officer-1God’s Word empowers us for living! Empowering is an awesome term. The power within a person is what guides and sustains them in their life efforts. It gives a person courage for success and rewards of a better life.

Fear should not be the authority for decision making. Notice the terms used in God’s word: spirit of wisdom and revelation, hope, enlightenment, mighty power, and dominion. The Apostle Paul says it is far above what we have in this age. Read the scriptures below and get an idea how God can raise you up for a good life.

Ephesians 1:17-21 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

A policeman directing traffic raises his hand and 10,000 pound vehicles stop. It is not the policeman’s power personally; it is the authority of the city’s power. He has been given power; however it is a power of authority. God has given you power over the devil and all his forces and they have to obey that power.

Luke 10:18-20 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The church of Jesus Christ must realize that we have this power. It is not in our own great power because we are empowered through Jesus Christ. Sometimes we don’t feel powerful, but it is in the Spirit within us from the Lord that makes us powerful.

God’s Word is powerful. When God created mankind, he gave them authority over everything.

Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

When we make important decisions for our life, we must remember the power within and consider the outcome of our decisions.

Just think of David and how he defeated Goliath. He said that the God who delivered him from the lion and the bear will deliver him from Goliath. That is exactly what happened.

The power is in the Word of God. It is not just describing what it could do, but is saying that God anointed His Word for the believer. So that the believer would have success in every area of life.

RAISED BY THE POWER OF GRACE

Let’s compare the rise of an eagle to rising up in the power of grace.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

The song, Lord Lift Us Up Where We Belong, says, “Where we belong, on the mountains high where the eagles fly.”

One of the realities of an eagle is he can’t maintain his heights by his own efforts. He always uses unseen updrafts of air to help him rise. When you see an eagle soaring, his wings are spread; designed to use the up drafts to hold him so high. The eagle would wear out if it was only by his efforts in flying. Never do we see an eagle flapping vigorously to stay in the lofty heights. We,too, will wear out if we are trying to be victorious by only our own efforts.

Ephesians 2:8 For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved(delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; AMP

Grace is never the only ingredient God is using for our salvation. Of course it is a free gift from God; however, it has to be mixed with faith. If you were not required to accept salvation through faith, you could not be saved, nor delivered, nor have all your needs supplied. God has designed us for a response by faith.

The term grace is from the root of the Greek word charis (khar’-ece); it always means the divine influence upon the human heart, and its reflection in the believer’s life; through unmerited favor. Look at the effect of grace to our lives as a result. (KJV – acceptable, benefit, favor, gift, grace (-ious), joy, liberality, pleasure, thankful.) These are granted to you through grace by faith.

The term grace means endowment, given for living, victoriously. All the powerful gifts of the spirit are from the root “charis.” This empowerment gives us all charisma in God for living. The benefits given to you make you “more than a conqueror”, an overcomer, by putting you in right relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Grace means God has made His presence/favor available to you. You have to accept it by faith. Faith comes from knowing His Word. You absolutely have forgiveness available to you at all times. However you must ask for it through repentance. Repentance means to allow God to change your ways to please Him.

The Lord woke me one morning with this thought,“Grace is like air to the Christian; you breathe it in continually.” Believing faith becomes natural to the believer. Grace brings us all the promises of God, through a new life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. NKJ

God didn‘t save and raise us up by our own merits, but by Christ Jesus. We never should accept trying to live a Christian life through our own efforts, but by the Word of the living God. Jesus said “Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’

We are to become like the eagles; flying high is not some laborious effort, it is by believing and confessing God’s Word. Zerubbabel was the man God was using. In Zech. 4:6-8 So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts. 7 ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”‘”

The mountain was flattened by grace. That is true, however, the man had to go and speak grace to the mountain. You have unseen power working to raise you up; however, you are required to speak His Word to your mountain.

Look at it this way, maybe no one can see it (God’s Word) but that does not make it unreal or ineffective. You cannot see the eagles up draft but it is there for him. Jesus said you can’t see the Spirit, but, you can see the effects of the Holy Spirit. You are endowed with power from the Holy Spirit through grace and faith. Let’s quit flapping around, trying to make our own way.

Deuteronomy 28:13 And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. NKJV

We are raised by the power of grace! We are endowed by God to overcome and live in victory! We are designed for overcoming!

man-on-mountain1Until next time: Be an overcomer and more than a conqueror!
