Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. NKJV
The definition of the word wait in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance is, OT:6960qavah (kaw-vaw’); a primitive root; to bind together (perhaps by twisting), i.e. collect; (figuratively) to expect: It carries the idea of braiding.)
The power of braiding your life by interweaving it with the truths revealed in God’s word is liberating to say the least and empowering to everyday living. Think of a young girl’s hair braided, then consider your life and God’s life coming together to form a new life.
Wait on the Lord, is an active verb. Spending time with the truths of the Bible by learning them and thinking on them certainly intertwines you and them. Faith is built on believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth.
Romans 10:8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. NKJV
An eagle can dive from the heavenliness to catch a prey at up to 80-90 miles an hour. That same eagle can slow down enough to scoop up a prey or grab a fish from the river on the fly. In a matter of minutes, he can be back in the air heading home.
When you stand and confess the word of God for help or deliverance, you can mount up quickly and find safety. Between you having the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, you are spiritually braided together with Him. The term mount up means to arise up; excel; break barriers; be released; be lifted up and much more.
Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved.
The term saved, in the Greek, means rescued, and protected.
If ever, for instance, you are sliding on a slick road and your car is losing traction; call out immediately, “Jesus save me.” Remember, Peter was walking on the water in a storm and he began to sink. He called out for the Lord to save him, immediately; he was lifted up and walked to the boat. We could say that he mounted up with eagle’s wings.
So how can we get our lives intertwined with God’s Word? Faith comes from hearing and hearing comes from God’s Word. Now, what were our simple instructions? We are to believe in our heart and confess with our mouth.
It is important to follow Biblical instructions for the correct results.
1 Timothy 4:15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. NKJV
Peter had already spent enough time with the Lord to have faith in Him for saving him in the storm. You too, can call upon Jesus for salvation in what maybe a storm in your life.
Meditation is the renewing of your mind by renewing your thoughts consciously and sub-consciously by the Bible. The eagle, acts according to who he is, an eagle. You are a new creation in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. NKJV
The truth is that you must learn how to be a new creation. There is a new realm and new heights waiting to catapult your life. When you were born again, the complete potential of you having the right to overcome all things was installed. You have the right of victory through Jesus Christ. Let me leave you with these thoughts form the scriptures.
1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. NKJV
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. NKJV
Until next time, may you grow in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord. Remember, it is important to follow Biblical instructions for Biblical results.
