When a person is born again, they become an extraordinary person. There are changes that happen to believers by being born of His Spirit. If you can change a man, you change his destiny and bychanging his destiny you affect the world around him. When a person has had the effect of divine influence upon their life, it will be life changing not only for themselves but for others.Let me take you into the pages of the Bible and tell you of a woman, whose story is still being told over and over. She never tried to find fame but healing for a blooddisorder.
Mark 5:25-26 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. NKJV
She is a certain woman: so we know her story is included on purpose. There are qualities about her that we can identify with. This woman was admired by Jesus. He said to her “Daughter, thy faith has made you whole.” Twelve years she fought for an answer to her condition. She spent all she had, yet she did not give up. Without question she was still looking for an answer. How do we know that? Mark 5:27 When she heard about Jesus, NKJV immediately she began to think and talk to herself. First of all let me list some things she didn’t say to herself.
1. I hope when I touch Jesus, something happens.
2. If it is God’s will, He’ll heal me.
3. I’ll try it, you never know, maybe this faith stuff will work.
4. If it is God’s will, Jesus will come to my house.
When she heard about Jesus, she heard about the great miracles people were receiving, that gave her hope and faith for herself.
Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
Luke 6:17-19 they came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, 18 as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed. 19 And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all. NKJV
This woman begins to talk faith to herself and make plans to go and receive healing. Notice what she said to herself.
Mark 5:28-29 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” What is the significance of all these words? The significance is life and death.
What she didn’t do:
1. She didn’t wait around for others to do something.
2. She didn’t wait around passively.
3. She didn’t mope around in self-pity.
What she did do:
1. She got motivated and planned her approach.
2. She wouldn’t take no for an answer.
3. She counted the cost.
4. She made pressed through the crowds and obstacles.
Faith always has corresponding actions. Remember that faith without works is dead. What a marvelous example for you today to be able to receive an extraordinary life changing event. You can receive healing and help in the time of need whatever your situation maybe today. Jesus is still working wondrous miracles.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Now for the rest of the story. She had covenant rights under Jewish inheritance and knew her standing. She spoke and acted in union with her faith toward God. What this woman needed was someone to open the door for her.
Jesus said, “I am the door.”
Now, let’s finish the story.
Mark 5:29-30 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” NKJ
Remember, faith is substance of things not seen, yet the evidence that things are real. She started the process with no room for her. The key that opened the promise door was and still is faith in Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. NKJV
Notice, Jesus turned around to see her. The instant faith exists; God is ready to release the answer according to His Word. She touched Him with her faith.
Jesus said “Who touched My clothes? She touched the hem of His cloak.
Mark 5:31-34 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. KJV there
This woman’s story has been told over and over. I want you to realize that there is hope for you even if your need may seems hopeless. Prayer with faith has the power still to get the attention of Jesus Christ. Her story is told for you as an example. What a positive testimony for us today.
She got hold of divine influence and boldly received an extraordinary miracle.
Prayer: Father God in the name of Jesus, I come in simple faith believing you for a miracle. The scripture says, “Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.” Thank you so very much.
