The Word of God says that it is very important for believers to grow and increase in the Word of God. Our pattern is taken from Jesus Himself.
Luke 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. NKJV
Colossians 1:9-13 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. NKJV
The Christian life is instrument rated. The Word of God is given so you know exactly all that is needed to have a successful life. Far too many Christians are trying to guide their lives by their feelings and their circumstances. If you were to fly a plane without checking the instruments or not be able to read them with understanding, you would probably crash. Everyone would be trying to figure out why. So many times Christians are in trouble and they say they did everything right. Is God at fault? Did He plan for them to crash and burn? Absolutely not!
The scripture says He wants us to increase in every good work. Isn’t faith a good work? The Word of God says, “The just shall live by faith.” Then it says increasing in the knowledge of God. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.” The Greek word for abundantly is, Perissos meaning: superabundance, excessive, overflowing, surplus, over and above, more than enough, profuse, extraordinary, more than sufficient.
As Christians our life is about Christian living; being a witness. It is about love, peace and joy. It is about our family, our job, our work. Isn’t life about good health and a great relationship with your spouse?
The point is this: If you don’t know the word of God, we will have a hard time staying on course.
Romans 12:1-2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. NLT
1 Corintians15:33 Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character. NIV
Companions will influence our behavior.
Transformation is going to be an ongoing process, to grow and increase is God’s will. However, only you can decide to let it happen to you.
Poverty mentality affects every facet of your life. It will cause you to only see the negative, when God has so much more for you.
Luke 5:2-11 After Jesus borrowed Peter’s boat, He said “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets. “Peter said; we have toiled all night; at your Word, we will let down the net.”
To enlarge your capacity for believing is not just hearing the word, but being a doer of the word. (James 1:22)
Luke 5:5-7 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats. NKJV
It is God’s desire that you prosper and be in health!! Cast down that poverty mentality and began to see your house in supernatural prosperity.
A. You must give God permission to increase you by faith and confession.
B. Make room for increase in your thinking.
C. Set your goal to go beyond where you are now, by faith.
D. Your inheritance goes beyond getting your needs met, its abundance. There
are others you can help.
E. Get in a good church teaching the word of faith.
The instrument panel for flying the plane of your life is God’s Word. So you need to be trained to fly it. Don’t give up! Start asking the Lord for direction on enlarging your capacity to believe.
Prayer: Dear God, it is my desire to grow and increase. I want to do more and experience more of the blessings you have for me. Help me to grow in your love and wisdom. In Jesus Name, amen.
