Psalm 107:20 He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. NASU.
The text this week is the power of the word to deliver you in any situation. When I say deliver you, I am talking about any situation. For instance the word of God affects people in every area of their life. If read consistently and a person attends meetings for teaching and understanding, there is power to overcome any challenge. It also is important that the Christian faith to be the standard for your lifestyle, moral code and belief system in God.
People give witness to the fact that the information they have learned from the Bible has transformed their lives.
a. It alters their view of the world.
b. It changes their relationship patterns.
c. It changes their values and ethics.
d. It changes their vocabulary.
e. It changes their view of eternity.
f. It gives them a position of victory not victim.
No single book of any kind, religious or secular has had the effect of the Bible on the people of so many different continents, nationalities and time periods.
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, NKJV
The lack of biblically knowledge causes a lack of the understanding of right and wrong. The same lack of biblical knowledge does not understand the outcome of choices you make. The influence of a lack of judgment over a period of time leads to destruction. You can be more easily deceived without knowledge of the Word of God. Ignorance is not just harmful, it can be deadly.
The Word God sent, is in His Son, Jesus Christ. The term saves means to rescue, to lift up; to preserve. The price is paid by someone else, Jesus. We can see that Jesus not only had a distinct message in the good news of the Kingdom of God, but also that He had a distinct ministry, which illustrated that message, in healing every disease and sickness. He delivered us from the enemy’s destructive deceptions.
Jesus did something else distinctly; He gave us power over the enemy through His Word. Luke 10:19-20 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. NKJV
When someone with authority gives you authority, there must be a power behind that authority to enforce it. The authority Jesus gave us is enforced by the Holy Spirit. He enforces your right to be healed when sick, and enforces Jesus’ promise to give you liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. NKJV
It is time for you to stop being the victim of life’s challenges and to exert your power of the Word to be the victor. This is when a decision has to be made, are you going to live as the victim of everything or declare, “In Jesus Christ, I am the victor; therefore, I have the victory?”
1 John 5:4-5 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith.5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? NKJV
It has to be understood, knowledge of God’s Word does make a difference in the outcome of life. Knowledge has been sent to deliver you from your destructions. Decide today that you are going to church to learn the Word of God.
Please pray this prayer from Ephesians chapter one.
I ask that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of my understanding being enlightened; that I may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance for me as a saint, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power in Jesus Christ. Amen
