There are so many people who seem over whelmed by life itself. How can that be when Jesus says; Matthew 11:29-30 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” NKJV
So, the question is; why am I having such a tough time? Why do I have limited success in my Christian experience? How can I get relief from being stressed out? Well, the answer is found in the scripture.
In our last post we discussed the “universal laws” that affect our tangible life. God created mankind, but He also gave us spiritual laws by which we should live. We gave you some truths to help you define your particular issues and seek God’s help on them. (See post -The Seekers.) If you don’t understand the power of knowing the Word of God, you will look somewhere else for answers.
1 John 5:4-5 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? NKJV
The term overcome in the Greek is nike and it means: to conquer, overcome, prevail, and get the victory: which basically is the means to success. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have Life and have it more abundantly.” John. 10:10
Can you begin to see there is a light at the end of the tunnel? The principles and truths in God’s Word empower the believer. We have the means of success in us already.
Faith in God, through His Word, will help you break out of limited living! The scripture says Faith is the victory! Allow me to put faith in today’s terminology. Faith believes what God says is absolutely true, and then receives it through grace which is a gift you cannot earn. Then you must put it in action in your life.
The beginning of change or break out is in the beliefs of your heart.
Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. AMP
No matter what we try to do, we will always be influenced by the thoughts or concepts that are normal to our thinking. They can be right or wrong. Right is
determined by the Word of God, not by us. We are identified as overcomers; therefore we must think that is true. John was writing to us, the church, calling us overcomers.
Faith is believing in our heart, and then confessing it with our mouth. Once you believe something new, corresponding actions should follow. Faith always has actions that prove it. Start acting like someone who is an overcomer.
Here are some truths to help you develop an overcoming mind-set. Refuse to think in fearful thoughts. Start telling yourself you can break out of negative circumstances because:
1. Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world!
(1 John 4:4)
2. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
(Philippians 4:13)
3. God didn’t give me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound
mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
4. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57)
Did you know that all of your days have already been written? God has already recorded every part of your life from the beginning to the end. He knows every disappointment, every loss and every challenge. The good news is that even though you’ve had some challenges, even though you’ve faced some setbacks, your story ends in victory. Your final chapter concludes with you fulfilling your God-given destiny and experiencing His eternal restoration.
Any time we face a disappointment in life or go through a loss, we must remember there’s another chapter in front of us. We can’t stop on that page; we have to keep moving forward. Instead of focusing on what didn’t work out. Let go of the past and press forward because your story ends in victory, and God will restore everything that has been stolen from you!
Prayer: Father God, today I am determined to be bold in my Christian faith and break out of limiting circumstances. Thank You for Your help, in Jesus Name. Amen!
