2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
The spiritual dimension is not considered a power player in the natural course of living, yet to God it is the source of everything you can see, touch, or feel.
It is very important for every believer to know about the source of power that is given by the Holy Spirit into the spirit of the believer. When you are born-again, you receive a regenerated spirit. It is in your heart where the spirit of the person resides. The potential of all that God’s salvation contains is deposited into the believer when he/she is born again.
Next we can see that Paul is telling us that God is shining the light of that knowledge to all believers. If believers will take the time to read, study and pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation they will begin to see the power of God’s Word activated in their lives. (Ephesians 1:17-18 may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened) God created the heavens and the earth, not out of nothing, but from something you cannot see naturally. The truth is everything you can see came from something not seen. For instance, we built a building for Spirit of Life Church; it was not there, however, it came from the dream/vision inside of Pastor Beth and me. We also had consultations with some members of Spirit of Life Church and an architect.
The city of Indianapolis, at one time was not there. It came from the people who settled it over a period of time. Trees come from a seed in which you cannot see a tree; it can end up being a forest.
The reason I am trying to make this understandable is God has put a treasure of power in the believer. The light of God’s Word is shining to give you understanding of the treasure within.
Too many times, people are so moved by what their senses tell them, they never see the real power of the treasure inside of them. To God the spiritual dimension is the source of everything you can see, touch and feel.
The Word of God tells us about the power we have because of Jesus Christ. It is God’s will for us to participate in the promises of the gospel. Let me just stir you with a few scriptures that describe how what you cannot see can affect the natural life:
Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Prov. 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish……
Mark 11:22-24 Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
The word power from the 2Corinthian 4:7 is from the Greek word dunamis, which means to have ability for miraculous works. My questions to you are: What do you believe? What is your vision? What do you say to the obstacles in your life? Do you have the courage to stand and believe God will help you according to His promises?
There is a treasure in our hearts that can accomplish the impossible, it is called the Word of God. This will be the theme for Ed and Beth Barnes Ministries for 2012.
Please consider all these truths you have just read and check in next Tuesday for more truth that can change your lives.
May God richly bless and prosper you in the year 2012.
