The Importance of Faith

Why is Faith so important in our Christian life? All of our relationship with God is based upon faith. The importance of knowing that truth is paramount to knowing and believing in God Himself.

Eph 2:8 For it is by free grace (God’ unmerited favor) that you are saved ( delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] isnot of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God. AMP

Please notice this truth because faith is your access line to salvation itself. The importance of this is; you could not even believe in God or believe God to be active in your life without Him giving you faith to believe. It is a gift you cannot earn or discover. Faith must be received by acknowledging and acting on God’s Word. Faith comes from hearing God’s Word. (Romans 10:17).

Faith gives you the substance in your heart to believe. The scripture says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Faith is our life-line to access God’s provision, whether it is being saved from our sinful condition or
receiving His deliverance in any form.

Here is an example: If you plug a lamp into a receptacle, the cord is the lifeline or faith for the lamp to light. It carries the electricity to the lamp for lighting power. In this example, electricity is “grace” and the cord is “faith”. Many appliances can be plugged into the receptacle; however, they will all need a cord to be plugged in. The Lord has much help for you at the throne of grace, but you need faith to access that help. (plugged in)

Now, just as appliances come with cords for electrical connection, God gives the believer faith for the grace connection. Don’t make it hard, just plug in!
